What families ask us
How does admissions work?
Families inquire, visit, apply and hear from us in March. The steps are on the admissions page, with the month each one happens.
When are open houses and visit days?
Open houses are in October and February. Visit days run most Tuesday mornings from October to April.
Can we visit before we apply?
Yes, and we ask every family to. A visit day is a morning in a classroom and a talk with the head of school. Children are welcome to come along.
What is a day like?
School runs from 8:15 am to 3:10 pm. Mornings are reading, writing and math, afternoons are science, history, art and music, and Wednesdays begin with chapel.
How does tuition work, and how do we ask about aid?
Tuition is set by the year and the grade. Financial aid is available; here is how to apply: an aid form follows the application, and the decision comes with admissions decisions. The tuition page goes through each step.
How big are the classes?
Each classroom's size is listed by grade in the program matrix, and the head of school can go over it with you at a visit.
Is there before and after care?
Yes. Before care opens at 7:30 am and after care runs until 5:30 pm, billed by the month for the days a family uses.
How does the school talk with families?
Each teacher sends a weekly note, families meet teachers for a conference in the fall and again in the spring, and the office answers the phone every school day.
Who is welcome, and what does chapel ask of my child?
All families who want what we teach are welcome, whether or not they belong to a church. In chapel children sing, listen and pray with their class. If you have questions, the head of school is glad to talk at a visit.
When do we hear back?
Decisions go out in early March, by letter and by phone. Families on the waitlist hear as places open.
Still have a question?
Write to the office, or book a visit day and ask in person.
