Chapel and faith

Chapel, prayer and who is welcome

Belfry began as a ministry of a neighborhood church, and faith is part of the school day: a short Bible reading each morning, prayer before lunch and chapel on Wednesdays.

All families who want what we teach are welcome, whether or not they belong to a church. If you have a question about what your child would hear or do, the head of school is glad to talk it over at a visit.

  • Prayer before lunch

  • Chapel on Wednesdays, open to families on the first Wednesday of each month

In the week

Where faith shows up

  • Chapel

Wednesday mornings, the whole school together: songs, a short talk and a prayer. Older students help lead the singing.

  • In the classroom

Each teacher opens the day with a reading and a prayer, and Bible class meets weekly in every grade.

  • Through the year

The school keeps Advent and Lent, and closes for Christmas and Easter. Families are invited to a spring concert in the chapel.

Come to chapel

Families may sit in on the first Wednesday of each month. Tell the office you are coming and we will save you a seat.
