A day at school

From the front door to the pickup line

Times are for a regular school day. Wednesdays make room for chapel after morning meeting.

  1. 7:30

    Step 1: Before care

The doors open at 7:30 am for families who need an earlier start. Children read, draw or play quietly until the bell.

  2. 8:15

Step 2: Arrival and morning meeting

A teacher greets each child at the door. Classes gather for a short Bible reading, a song and the plan for the day. On Wednesdays chapel follows.

  3. 8:45

    Step 3: Morning lessons

Reading and writing first, then math, in the same room with the same teacher.

  4. 11:45

    Step 4: Lunch and recess

Children eat the lunch they packed with their class, then play outside on the field behind the school.

  5. 12:45

    Step 5: Afternoon lessons

Science, history, art and music, taught by the grade's own teacher or a visiting one.

  6. 3:10

    Step 6: Dismissal

Teachers walk children to the pickup line or to after care, which runs until 5:30 pm.
